Northern sea ice growth a fluke? The AGW canary is very much alive!

The official line from the Global Warming establishment is that the ice growth is a" fluke" says Mark Serreze.
However the arctic ice , touted as the Global Warming  canary, has been re-growing strongly for the last couple of years.

Northern sea ice is nearly back to average levels globally for the first time in at least a decade after years of spectacular declines.

The surprise growth at a time of year when ice is normally melting has triggered a blizzard of I-told-you-sos among online climate change skeptics.
But the man whose data is behind the furor says a few weeks of cold weather in one part of the Arctic - not an end to global warming - has skewed the numbers.
Mark Serreze of the U.S-based National Snow and Ice Data Center says ice in most northern waters, including Canada's eastern regions, is still well below average.
He says skeptics should be careful to distinguish between weather - which is local and short-term - and climate, which covers broad stretches of time and space.

Of course I suppose the large percentage increases in summer ice in 2008 and 2009 were just flukes also?
The AGW crowd has so much invested in the ice-free Arctic scare that it will be more and more difficult for them to explain it's cyclic recovery.

  1. Isn't it interesting to see how the 'weather' versus 'climate' issue can be conveniently rolled out by the Alarmists whenever it suits their view of the world.
Are they the sole arbiters of what, how and when 'weather changes' becomes 'climate change'?
Exactly how long must a change in the weather be apparent before it becomes climate change?
The answer of course is as long at it takes for those ubiquitous graphs to start moving in the right direction; from their point of view. A small upturn, or even one year of warming, is enough to start the now well known clamoring about the disastrous impacts of climate change, yet any movement in a downward direction is always met with cries of derision, or claims that even that is really due to climate change.
With these turkeys, who are all joined at the hip at the same grant feeding trough, the whole thing is simply manna from heaven. God forbid that true science should ever be permitted to interfere with their never ending manipulation of fuzzy data.

  2. They speak of climate change vs weather, however all the doom that's ahead is in the form of Weather. Climate change causes BAD weather, right? Why is it that climate change can't possibly cause GOOD weather? In fact, most people consider warm and sunny, good weather.
