Disaster- Global Warming causes smaller tits!

It also causes smaller turtles, frogs, deer and mini polar bears according to the latest research passed off as science.

A Pair of Great Tits

Over the past century, several types of animals, including turtles, tits, frogs or deers are becoming increasingly smaller.

The decrease of Arctic glaciers in recent years has led to considerable smaller polar bears. Because their environment is shrinking they must adapt and become smaller so they will survive in the future but the scientists are not sure if the polar bears can keep up with the accelerated pollution and they might face extinction.

Reduction of food reserves will affect especially the animals that are at the top of the food chain, including people who in the future will be increasingly smaller, will have fewer children and more vulnerable to disease.

In the last century, global average temperature has increased by almost one degree (Celsius), but after increasing industrialization scientists believe that around year 2100 the average temperature will be 7 degrees higher than today and this mean an mass extinction of animals and plants and possible humans.

A separate study conducted over 1700 species of plants and animals, proved that 80% of them moved their living area with 6.1 kilometers north every ten years and 87% bloom or begin the mating season two days earlier each decade.

Experimental studies have found that for every degree (Celsius) above the global average temperature, the plants lose about 17% of their size and the fish are becoming about 22% smaller.

As a retired nurseryman I can say that a one degree increase in temperature will make plants grow faster and larger not smaller and  moving plants to a warmer greenhouse is done for that reason. I don't know why people bother printing this crap.

  1. Thanks for keeping us abreast of the "science", Baron. Even way back in the 1990 "Greenhouse Conspiracy" TV documentary, Dr Sherwood Idso's research into plant behaviour showed that small increases in CO2 produce very significant increases in plant growth. This in addition to slightly higher temperatures resulting from Planet Earth's temperatures slowly returning towards what they were centuries ago, means more plant growth = food.

  2. We may be getting smaller birds and smaller polar bears, but is there any chance that we could end up with smaller elephants?

I rather fancy having one around the house - so much more useful than a cat or a dog.

On a more serious note, the debate on "global warming" or "climate change" does seem rather ephemeral (if that is the right word for "thin" or "lacking in substance"), but is a very good money-spinner for a lot of people, and has given the government a whole range of new reasons to tax us. What seems to be being ignored is the reduction in "biomass" that is evident - whole species that were once numerous are now becoming scarce (e.g. starlings and house sparrows in the UK; where once nights at sea were invariably lit up with bioluminescence, now the merest glow is a rarity; plains that thundered to the hooves of migrating animals now show a few paltry stragglers). Much of this might be able to be laid at the door of human interference, yet we prefer to argue how the absolute increase of 0.025% of a gas that is a requirement for life is devastating our world!

  3. There is no doubt that mankind has degraded the environment an we should face up to repairing the damage where feasible. If some of the trillions disappearing on the global warming scam were diverted to genuine environmental concerns and wisely spent I would have no objection. I have always objected to the appalling waste of modern governments but am not anti-environment. CO2 however is not the enemy.

    1. So, why not assist in raising awareness of the real environmental issues - not focusing on whether global warming is a scam but focusing on what you consider geniune concerns.

The problem we are facing is all environmental issues get bundled up into 'scams' and real concerns are not taken seriously. So, put your money where you mouth is and put some of your energy to positive returns. Help community refocus on real environmental issues (land clearing, population, species decline, over fishing . . . whatever you believe is critical. Please help raise general environmental awareness - I believe the masses are looking for reasons not to change and remain ignorant regarding many issues. The best way to reduce attention on a "false" issue is to not focus on it. Start focussing on the geniune issues - show some leadership and help realign the debate.

  4. I'm in 100% agreement with that!

  5. Climate scientists funded by the US government have announced new research in which they have established that the various doomsday global warming scenarios are in fact extremely unlikely to occur, and that the scenarios considered likeliest - and used for planning by the world's governments - are overly pessimistic.
